New Release:
Andrew Shapiro Announces New Album “SOFT-SHAPES,” Shares New Single “Aik.”
Solo piano suite; 8 tracks
The Brooklyn-based composer Andrew Shapiro has announced his 11th studio release entitled “Soft-Shapes.”
Arriving October 17th via Airbox Music, it features Shapiro at the piano creating a landscape of intelligently soothing emo, ambient, classical and minimalist sensibilities.
The single “Aik” draws its name and inspiration from the Cocteau Twins track “Aikea-Guinea.”
About this new project Shapiro says: “It’s my first album of piano music in nine years. Actually, it’s my first album of any new music in nine years. And I happen to have a nine year old son at home….there’s certainly a coincidence there!”
